Soak it Up! Award 2019

Holland Town Hall | Holmen, WI

2019 marks year two for The Soak it Up! Project Award, showcasing people who are becoming part of the solution to protect local waters.

Citizens nominate their own or another property landscaped with water in mind. Nominated projects reduce polluted runoff to local waterways, beautify neighborhoods, show neighbors how projects are done, and inspire more local work. Voluntary projects on private land add the resources and imagination of citizens to ongoing, planful work by local governments, to tackle the largest water pollution challenge in our region.

In 2018, Misty’s Dance Unlimited was the first recipient of The Soak it Up! Project Award.  The Misty’s Dance property produces virtually zero runoff, and is just one of many properties in our area where landowners are becoming part of the solution, reducing runoff pollution to improve our waterways.

The 2019 Soak it Up! Project Award is accepting nominations from any local resident, group or business who has become part of the solution and is reducing runoff on their property.
