In May 2021, 460 volunteers pulled 23,280 pounds of trash and debris from local waterways.
Since 1993, River Clean Up, La Crosse volunteers have pulled 730,000 pounds of trash from local streams. The annual event builds on the success of watershed conservation efforts, and protects and restores our natural environment. It is citizen-led, and a positive and fun way for everyone to get outdoors, see our waterways, learn about stormwater pollution, and make this a cleaner, healthier and safer place to live and play.
Collaborating with this group, allows us to help spread outreach and education about how to reduce runoff pollution and make our waterways cleaner, healthier and safer. More information about their work can be found at RIVERCLEANUPLACROSSE.COM.
