September 21st | Last Chance To Nominate | Misty’s Dance
The Soak It Up! Project Award
THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO NOMINATE A HOME, SMALL BUSINESS, CHURCH OR ORGANIZATION. FOUR FINALIST WILL BE CHOSEN MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 24TH.
FEATURED NOMINATION: MISTY’S DANCE STUDIO
“I am honored that our project would be nominated! I live on Lake Onalaska, so I am keenly aware of how important it is to keep stormwater runoff where it belongs. When you see our stormwater project, the design speaks for itself. And, the edible and pollinator friendly plants are some of my favorites.” Misty Lown, Owner.
Both the building and the landscaping at Misty’s Dance Studio are breathtaking. There is not one, not two, but three HUGE rain gardens surrounding the property. Photos below were taken after yesterday’s heavy rain. These gardens, filled with native, deep rooted plants, will help millions of gallons of runoff soak in naturally. Preserving local waterways.
Look for The Soak it Up! Project during the Oktoberfest parades. Spectators will vote for their favorite project nomination during La Crosse’s 2018 Oktoberfest Maple Leaf parade. The winning project’s owner will receive native plants and landscape materials valued at $700 from project partners; City of Onalaska, Coulee Region Ecoscapes, Christen Farm Nursery, and Prairie Nursery.
